One reason change feels so threatening is that we often confuse the business with its current offers. But an offer is only one expression of something much bigger: your expertise, experience, point of view, relationships, and the transformation you help people create.
Before changing your website, service menu, or positioning, look at what’s already there.
- What have you gotten better at?
- What do people consistently come to you for?
- What do clients value most about working with you?
- What problems are you solving that you haven’t formally named?
Often, the next chapter of a business is already happening. It doesn’t need to be invented. It needs to be recognized.
And that experience is an asset. The things you’ve learned through years of doing the work can become offers, intellectual property, teaching, coaching, or entirely new ways of creating value. You don’t always need to learn something new. Sometimes you need to see the value in what you already know.
That’s where having someone who can help reflect your business back to you becomes extra invaluable (see below!)
